Opportunity for a Mandarin speaking Tax professional to join a leading solar PV manufacturing company as Tax Manager.
Locations: The company has offices in San Ramon, CA and Dallas, TX. The role can be based in either San Ramon or Dallas.
Key Responsibilities- North America Tax Compliance
- Manage U.S. and Canadian tax matters, including federal, state/provincial, and local taxes.
- Ensure full compliance with local tax laws and regulations, including timely filing of all tax returns and payments.
- Oversee indirect taxes, such as U.S. and Canada sales and use tax.
- Monitor changes in U.S. and Canadian tax regulations and assess business impact.
- Tax Advisors & External Coordination
- Act as the primary contact for U.S. and Canadian tax advisors and CPA firms.
- Coordinate tax filings, tax projects, and ongoing communications with tax agents.
- Manage tax-related service fee budgets and support tax payment budgeting and system entries.
- Liaise with local tax authorities as required.
- Tax Accounting & GAAP
- Support tax-related accounting matters in accordance with U.S. GAAP (ASC 740).
- Assist with income tax provision, deferred tax analysis, and effective tax rate explanations.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes related to tax.
- Communicate North America tax and GAAP matters clearly to China headquarters.
- Industry-Specific Tax Matters (Manufacturing / Renewable Energy Preferred)
- Manage tax issues related to manufacturing and/or renewable energy operations.
- Support tax matters related to renewable energy incentives, where applicable, including U.S. ITC / PTC and transferable tax credits; Canadian clean energy investment tax credits and accelerated CCA.
- Support tax structuring for projects, entities, and cross-border operations.
- Audit Support
- Coordinate and support local financial audits and tax audits in the U.S. and Canada.
- Act as the main point of contact for auditors and external advisors.
- Prepare and review audit-related tax documentation and responses.
- Cash Management & Banking Support
- North America cash settlement activities, including transaction coordination and reconciliation.
- Issue checks for approved tax payments, vendor payments, and other disbursements.
- Deposit received checks and ensure timely and accurate recording.
- Coordinate with banks on routine banking matters.
- Support bank reconciliations and cash planning related to tax payments.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, finance or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in handling U.S. corporate taxation.
- Working knowledge of Canadian corporate tax and indirect taxes.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP (ASC 740).
- Experience in solar industry or renewable energy industry is highly preferred.
- Work experience in large public accounting firm.
- Bilingual in Chinese and English.
