Responsibilities
Our client is well known worldwide and this role would have you leading the business development and market expansion across the UK. We're looking for a senior commercial leader who can help establish and grow the company's market presence with T&D Operators, EPCs and Utilities. This is a start-up style role within the UK and as such requires strong BD experience in the market along with the ability to work independently at first. Over time, the role will grow to building a team to lead and establishing the UK office.
Role
- Drive growth initiatives and expand market presence across Europe and the UK within the high-voltage power equipment sector.
- Build and maintain long-term partnerships with key stakeholders, including utility providers, grid operators, engineering contractors, and large industrial clients.
- Assist in supplier onboarding and technical approval procedures for high-voltage solutions, such as transformers and associated grid equipment.
- Source and manage large-scale infrastructure opportunities, working closely with internal teams and regional counterparts to support tender participation.
- Oversee the full commercial lifecycle, from initial client engagement through proposal development, contract negotiation, and transition to delivery teams.
- Serve as the main commercial liaison between clients and internal technical, production, and operational functions.
- Gather and analyse market insights, including competitor activity and customer needs, to inform commercial strategy and positioning.
- Support the development and expansion of regional operations, including technical support, project delivery, and post-installation services.
- Contribute to the establishment and scaling of a local presence, including organisational growth as market activity increases.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, additional MBA preferred.
- Demonstrable experience in UK Business Development.
- Proven and relevant experience in Electrical Infrastructure or UK Energy industry.
- Experience with HV Transformers preferred.
- Skilled with commercial and negotiation, especially for longer sales cycles.
- Ability to operate independently in a startup style environment.
- Experience growing new markets.
