Resident Civil Engineer required for a major Distribution Network Operator based in Scotland
Responsibilities
As a Civil Site Resident Engineer, you will fulfil the role of both the Client's Engineer and the NEC Supervisor on-site.
You will be required to work closely with the Clients Project Management team, Designers, Contractors and stakeholders in the management and coordination of the health and safety, technical and quality aspects of the works on a client led design package of works.
Overseeing civil and structural works during construction and ensuring compliance with the Works Information.
Detailed and accurate record keeping including diaries, resources, photographs, progress and weather.
Reviewing RFIs and TQs, Contractor Documentation including Quality Plans, Construction Phase Plans, Method Statement and Risk Assessments, Inspection and Test Plans, Contractor's Designs.
Undertaking Tests and Inspection activities of the works ensure compliance with designs and specifications.
Notifying of defects and instructions to search for defects and coordination of defect close out with the project manager and contractor, Review of contractor programmes to identify order and timing of the works with respect to coordination of designs, tests and or inspections and interface activities with other contractors.
Accurate records for input into as-builts, recording of design changes and sharing of lessons learnt with the wider team.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience of NEC Supervisor Role.
- Previous experience in resident engineer role for a client organisation.
- Previous experience on HVDC or Transmission Projects.
- Experienced in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team or on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to liaise with all project stakeholders.
- Valid UK working rights.
