Protection Engineer required for a major Offshore Wind Farm Developer based in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Perform commissioning, testing, validation, and troubleshooting of protection and control systems for high-voltage electrical installations.
  • Configure, test, and maintain protection relays, control systems, and associated communication interfaces.
  • Support installation, energization, and commissioning activities for HVDC and HVAC transmission projects.
  • Analyse protection system performance and investigate faults, disturbances, and equipment failures.
  • Review and interpret protection schemes, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct relay settings verification and protection coordination studies as required.
  • Participate in site acceptance testing (SAT), factory acceptance testing (FAT), and commissioning procedures.

Requirements

  • Valid full GWOs.
  • Experience as an HVDC Protection Engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of Siemens HVDC protection and control equipment.
  • Experience supporting Siemens HVDC commissioning or service projects.
  • Experience with offshore wind transmission systems, converter stations, or grid connection projects.
  • Knowledge of IEC standards applicable to protection and control systems.
