The role combines technical, commercial, regulatory and stakeholder-management responsibilities and requires a strong understanding of the German renewable energy market, planning and permitting framework, grid connection processes, land securing and project economics.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of utility-scale Solar PV, Wind and BESS projects throughout all development stages until RTB and start of construction.
- Maintain complete project documentation and development trackers.
- Prepare regular management reports, project status updates and risk assessments.
- Identify and assess greenfield and brownfield development opportunities across Germany.
- Support project acquisition and co-development opportunities.
- Conduct preliminary feasibility studies and project yield assessments.
- Identify and approach landowners, municipalities and local stakeholders.
- Maintain long-term relationships with landowners and local communities.
- Lead and coordinate all permitting activities required for project realisation in Germany.
- Coordinate grid connection strategy for Solar, Wind and BESS projects.
- Manage communication and negotiations with DSOs and TSOs and external advisers.
- Serve as primary interface with municipalities, local authorities, landowners, grid operators and local communities.
- Coordinate and manage technical concept development for Solar PV plants, onshore wind farms, standalone BESS, hybrid renewable systems and substations and grid infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Sciences, Economics or similar.
- Proven experience in utility-scale Solar PV, Wind and/or BESS development in Germany.
- Experience with TSO-level grid connections (110 kV / 220 kV / 380 kV).
- Experience supporting project financing and M&A processes.
- Strong understanding of German permitting framework, grid connection procedures, municipal planning processes and renewable energy market structure.
- Experience managing external consultants and stakeholders.
- Strong commercial and negotiation capabilities.
- Fluent German and English (written and spoken).
