With an established presence across the global offshore wind sector, this organisation provides market intelligence, strategic advisory and commercial insights to developers, investors, suppliers and other key industry stakeholders. Its services support investment decisions, market entry strategies and commercial development across international renewable energy markets.

Following the expansion of its offering into onshore wind, the business is seeking an experienced industry professional to lead its advisory function while driving business development and commercial growth across its wider portfolio. This appointment will combine strategic consulting leadership with hands-on business development, offering the opportunity to shape advisory services, strengthen client relationships and support the organisation's continued expansion across global wind markets.

The Role:

  • Lead and develop the advisory function, overseeing the delivery of strategic consulting engagements across offshore wind, with future expansion into onshore wind.
  • Drive business development activities across the wider organisation, identifying commercial opportunities, strategic partnerships and new client relationships.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to developers, investors and industry stakeholders, providing strategic insights to support investment and commercial decision-making.
  • Lead the delivery of complex consulting projects, ensuring high-quality outputs, commercial relevance and strong client satisfaction.
  • Develop and execute business development strategies, maintaining structured target lists, qualified opportunities and clear commercial priorities.
  • Work closely with senior leadership, sales and customer success teams to coordinate business development activities and convert opportunities into long-term client relationships.
  • Strengthen the organisation's advisory offering through the development of new services, methodologies and market intelligence capabilities.
  • Represent the business at industry events, conferences and client meetings, strengthening its market position and industry network.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to the advisory team, supporting professional development and consistent delivery standards.
  • Identify emerging market trends, investment opportunities and strategic developments across global offshore and onshore wind markets.
  • Maintain oversight of business development performance, ensuring opportunities are progressed effectively and aligned with wider commercial objectives.

The Candidate:

  • Established experience within the global wind energy sector, ideally combining strategic advisory, consulting and commercial business development.
  • Strong understanding of offshore wind markets, including industry dynamics, investment considerations, supply chains and key market participants.
  • Proven track record of leading consulting engagements, strategic projects or advisory services within renewable energy or infrastructure.
  • Demonstrable experience identifying, developing and converting commercial opportunities into long-term client relationships.
  • An established international network across wind developers, investors, suppliers and other industry stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to identify market opportunities and translate strategic insights into business growth.
  • Experience leading, mentoring or developing teams within a consulting, advisory or commercially focused environment.
  • Comfortable engaging with senior executives, investors and industry decision-makers, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised and hands-on, with the ability to balance strategic leadership, project delivery and business development responsibilities.
