Telecoms / SCADA Engineer required for a major Offshore Wind Developer based in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting telecoms issues offshore
  • Daily progress reporting while offshore
  • Attend and participate in project meetings
  • Review and comment on contractor documentation (WMS, RAMS, ITPs, ITRs)
  • Plan and manage telecoms/SCADA punch list items and remediation works
  • Oversee contractor telecoms/SCADA commissioning (witnessing and monitoring)
  • Interface with commissioning team and PFO-IT
  • Manage DBK telecoms spares (e.g. network switches, fibre patch leads)
  • Act as offshore point of contact for DBK telecoms support
  • Support installation of temporary LTE in towers
  • Assist PFO-IT with configuration and troubleshooting of Equinor network switches
  • Conduct signal testing during energisation of WTGs and GIS
  • Support TETRA base station installation and integration
  • Perform pre-configuration of Equinor network switches (onshore/offshore, nacelles)

Requirements

  • Proven experience in telecoms and SCADA within industrial/offshore environments
  • Strong troubleshooting capability across network and SCADA systems
  • Experience with network switches, fibre optics, and LTE/wireless technologies
  • Knowledge of telecoms/SCADA commissioning processes
  • Familiarity with TETRA systems and industrial communication networks
  • Ability to review and interpret technical documentation (WMS, RAMS, ITPs, ITRs)
  • Experience supporting energisation and commissioning activities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders (contractors, IT, commissioning teams)
  • Ability to work independently in offshore environments
  • Understanding of health & safety requirements in offshore settings
