The Senior Legal Counsel will take a lead role during the construction and delivery phase of projects, while also supporting transactions, land and development activities, and wider commercial legal matters. This is a high-visibility, hands-on position working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Role

  • Provide senior legal advice to onshore renewable energy projects across the UK and Ireland
  • Lead the negotiation and drafting of construction and delivery-stage contracts
  • Work closely with commercial, construction and contract management teams and manage external legal counsel where required
  • Support acquisitions, including due diligence, transaction structuring, negotiation and closing
  • Coordinate legal inputs for landowner and development agreements, primarily for greenfield and early-stage projects
  • Advise on Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with utilities and corporate offtakers
  • Support a broad range of legal matters including service contracts, regulatory and compliance issues
  • Take on a leadership role within project teams, ensuring pragmatic and commercially focused legal support

Experience

  • Qualified Solicitor in England, Scotland or Ireland
  • Essential experience in the renewable energy sector
  • Proven expertise in energy construction contracts, particularly EPC contracts
  • Property and land law experience preferred
  • M&A / transactional experience an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational and stakeholder management skills
