Responsibilities
- Promote a positive safety culture and support the Operations Team in achieving all Health & Safety objectives.
- Carry out maintenance and servicing of offshore wind turbines, including routine servicing, reactive and proactive maintenance, inspections, retrofits and major component exchanges.
- Contribute proactively to wider site operations, including project work, spares management and non-routine tasks.
- Operate effectively as part of a rotational offshore team, ensuring work is completed safely and to a high technical standard.
- Work flexibly across a combination of offshore service vessels and crew transfer vessels, as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a wind turbine technician within O&M, or a strong heavy-industrial background with multi-system complex fault-finding skills.
- Strong understanding of HSSE systems and safe-work practices, with the ability to contribute to team leadership.
- Existing WTSR authorisations such as Competent Technician or Authorised Technician (or equivalent).
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Positive, proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- Full UK clean driving licence.
- Comfortable working at height and at sea.
- Certifications & Minimum Qualifications
- Full GWO certification, including valid offshore medical (with Chester Step Test).
- GWO EFA (PHEM Level C) and cross-certified HSE First Aid at Work (or willingness to complete prior to offshore deployment).
- Wind turbine service and maintenance experience.
- Experience working under Wind Turbine Safety Rules as a Competent Technician or Authorised Technician.
- Slinger/Banksman qualification.
- Generic Crane User (or equivalent).
Authorised Technician (with Live Testing) β Additional Responsibilities
- Ability to undertake higher-risk or complex tasks, including live testing on mechanical, hydraulic, pressurised and electrical systems, as well as WTG controller/setting adjustments and OEM software updates.
- Required prerequisites include:
- Electrical fault-finding and electrical awareness training
- Maintenance task competency
- Assessment under relevant AWP and ROMP procedures
- WTSR Module 2 (advantageous)
- Pre-authorisation practical assessment and approval panel review
- Desirable Qualifications
- EURIKA Advanced First Aid (or equivalent).
- Engineering qualification.
- Experience on 3.6MW class offshore wind turbines (107/120 platform or similar).
