Overview

Business Manager - Data Centre and Digital Infrastructure with a global renewables investment business (over €30 billion under management). Portfolio spans offshore and onshore wind, solar PV, Power-to-X, transmission, and utility-scale BESS across UK, Europe, APAC and North America.

The Role

  • Structuring and negotiating BESS Optimisation and Off-take Agreements.
  • Managing the full commercial life-cycle from feasibility to financial close.
  • Identifying and mitigating commercial, technical, and legal risks.
  • Aligning internal teams (investment, legal, procurement, technical) and external partners.
  • Advising investment committees on market attractiveness and revenue optimisation.
  • Ensuring contractual structures support long-term stable returns and operational flexibility.
  • Supporting broader storage-market strategy and portfolio expansion across Europe.

The Requirements

  • Proven experience negotiating and closing BESS, renewable, or power-market commercial agreements.
  • Strong understanding of BESS revenue mechanisms, including capacity, ancillary, and balancing services.
  • Experience assessing and managing commercial risk across complex infrastructure projects.
  • Financial and analytical capability to evaluate project value, revenue forecasts, and sensitivities.
  • Ability to collaborate across technical, legal, and investment teams to deliver commercially robust outcomes.
  • Track record influencing senior stakeholders and investment-level decision making.
  • Demonstrated success delivering bankable BESS commercial structures and optimisation contracts.
  • Experience driving projects through key investment and financial milestones.
  • Proven capability aligning diverse stakeholder groups and managing commercial risk effectively.
  • Strong commercial judgement and precision in advising investment committees.
