Cable Installation Engineer required for a major offshore wind developer based in Scotland
Responsibilities
- Expected to work with sufficient autonomy and lead the technical aspects of the Cable Installation scope all along the project life cycle.
- Analyse, recommend and optimise offshore installation and logistic concepts and methodologies from early design up to the offshore campaign, (including route engineering, CBRAs, CPS design, cable pull ins)
- Support Key project tender activities including development of technical requirements, evaluation of technical proposals and contract negotiations.
- Review method statements and risk assessments and produce comments sheets
- Provide input to the risk and programme analysis
- Respond to technical queries or interface with other packages/Contractors to resolve queries
- Review engineering calculations (in general) and identify issues / risks to the Project
- Liaison with the Marine Warranty Surveyor service, ensuring the transport and installation methodology is approved
- Promote a strong, clear and positive health and safety culture
- Ensure compliance with offshore marine and lifting regulations
- Attendance to meetings, and participation in the required discussions, at the project offices, as well as at the Contractors and Site offices
- Delivery of all technical tasks, including production of documents, attendance to meetings, reports, technical evaluations, specifications, alternatives assessments, site inspections, etc., as required
- Support HAZID/HAZOP for loadout, transport and installation equipment design and offshore installation operations
- Continuous knowledge sharing including regularly updated Lessons Learnt registered with the line department
Requirements
- Educated to Degree level in relevant engineering discipline (Naval, Civil or Mechanical) and master's degree in an engineering discipline related to offshore installation works or maritime works will be positively assessed
- Registration as a Professional Engineer is desirable
- 7 years previous relevant industry experience
- Experience in Inter Array Cables Installation
- Experience in Offshore T&I /Subsea /Marine Operations
- Relevant experience working for a developer is desirable
