Taylor Hopkinson is working with one of Ireland's leading energy companies to recruit a Pre-Construction Project Manager who will lead the delivery of large-scale renewable projects including Wind, Solar & Battery Storage. The client recently underwent significant financial investment and has a considerable pipeline of renewables projects in development, construction and operational phases.

Initially, the main focus of the role will be to lead final development stages, co-ordinating procurement and discharge of pre-commencement planning conditions and obtaining the required internal approvals. The role will additionally support the origination of opportunities, landowner negotiations, design and resource assessments, environmental & planning analysis, managing project budgets and managing project risk.

This is a full-time, staff role based in Dublin (hybrid working 2-3 days a week office working).

  • Responsibility for project delivery including project planning & scheduling, risk management, budget and cost forecast management, project resourcing and monthly reporting to Senior Management.
  • Effective stakeholder management including landowners, politicians, planners, third party consultants, utilities and other public bodies.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Planning, Contracts & Procurement, Finance, Corporate Development, Renewables Operations and Regulation.
  • Commercial negotiation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Input to regulatory consultations and responses.
  • Responsible for coordination and input to planning applications and responses as well as ensuring the timely discharge of conditions to allow construction progress as planned.
  • Advise and input into optimised renewable technology selection.
  • Responsible for coordinating and finalising the optimal site design, ensuring constructability.
  • Input to due diligence of potential acquisition projects.
  • Keep up to date with best practices in the renewables field and share learnings with the team.

Requirements:

  • A third level qualification in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management or similar.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar Project Management role in large scale infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience of successfully managing third party consultants and contractors.
  • Experience or knowledge of the planning process in the Republic of Ireland.
  • Full driving license.
  • Experience of Solar Technology and its deployment in the field.
  • Management of projects through a construction phase.
  • Experience in reviewing renewables contracts.
