Quality Lead Transmission required for a major Offshore Wind Developer based in The United Kingdom.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate quality execution across all transmission scopes including Onshore Substation, Landfall Civils, Export Cable Supply, Offshore Substation, and Inter-Array Cables Supply.
- Ensure implementation of agreed Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) at all supplier and construction locations, with a focus on real-time execution, compliance, and corrective action.
- Oversee and coordinate QA representatives deployed at key manufacturing, fabrication, and construction facilities to ensure consistent quality oversight and proactive issue resolution.
- Lead the response to quality issues and non-conformances across the execution phase, ensuring clear accountability, resolution, and traceable documentation.
- Monitor and drive closure of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), defects and punches in line with project timelines and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities for significant or recurring issues, ensuring actions are identified, implemented, and tracked through to effective closure.
- Maintain regular and active engagement with suppliers, contractors, and QA site teams to verify quality compliance and execution readiness.
- Attend key quality hold points and milestone inspections (FATs, PFAIs, site walkdowns, manufacturing facility inspections etc.) across all transmission scope locations.
- Act as the quality focal point between transmission packages and other project scopes (FOU, WTG, IAC, OSS) to ensure integrated execution and consistent quality standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in quality assurance/control within large-scale infrastructure or energy projects, preferably in offshore wind.
- Proven experience with transmission systems including offshore substations, subsea cable installation, and onshore grid connection works.
- Strong knowledge of relevant ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001), IEC standards, and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with marine operations, offshore construction environments, and high-voltage systems.
- Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
