Lead HV Electrical Engineer for a major Offshore Wind Project based in The United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

  • Adapt the FEED design of electrical systems (covering electrical system design, onshore substation, offshore reactive compensation station and offshore substations) including the work of 3rd party consultants to enable the procurement of assets and start of detailed design.
  • Manage the detailed design, ensure that the design optimizes LCOE, takes fabrication and installation constraints into account and meets all requirements in terms of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality.
  • Define and implement activities relating to quality control and assurance of the electrical packages and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and interface with all members of the project team and its suppliers as necessary in support of the organisation's objectives.
  • Assess contractor proposals, coordinating and assisting in negotiating contracts.
  • Liaise with experts within the wider shareholders' entities.
  • Ensure interfaces with other packages, contractors and stakeholders are identified and appropriately managed.
  • Ensure requirements in terms of Quality and HSE are met.

  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage own workload, meet timescales and coordinate both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to enable effective discussion and transfer of information between contractors, team members and other stakeholders.
  • Proactive and co-operative way of working.
  • The technical skills to understand complex onshore & offshore operations and the ability to exchange with and understand subject experts.
  • Evaluation of Tenders and contractors from a technical point of view.
