HV Control Engineer required for a major Offshore Wind Farm Developer based in Poland.
Responsibilities:
- In real-time knowledge on ongoing work and the priorities of each job.
- Manage the power distributions of the OWF.
- Monitor and operate the OWF.
- Manage OWF through SCADA and other information systems.
- Provide rapid restoration in case of faulty situations.
- Maintain an overview of the network security and availability.
- Ensure adherence to project Safety Rules.
- Create safe processes for 1st energizations.
- Create switching schedules for 1st energizations.
- Issue/approve switching schedules.
- Take responsibility as Person in Control of the electrical installation during work.
- Monitor, approve, issue PtW.
- Safely operate the plant under Electrical Safety Rules alongside other procedures.
- Create switching schedules for the creation of a safe workplace for all work on the electrical system.
- Perform switching tasks.
- Contribute to the design stage ensuring needs of operator are considered.
- Familiarize with the electrical system by participating in FAT/SAT testing as required.
- Contribute to the development of the Client ESR.
- Act as ambassador for Client ESR promoting safety culture within the team.
- Uphold the Client Electrical Safety Rules and other Electrical Safety Procedures.
- Perform remote switching operations as required.
- Authorize the de/re-activation of parts of the electrical installation.
- Plan and prepare electrical works on the electrical installation as delegated by the PREI.
- Communicate all outages and activities affecting the HV system to PREI.
- Communicate and coordinate directly with all AP/SAPs who are carrying out works at the system.
- Safeguard the system and individuals in the event of any abnormal occurrence, communicate with PREI and ensure actions are taken to correct the abnormality.
- Initiate site-specific emergency response procedures and warn of any abnormal conditions/system changes that could affect personnel working at the system.
- Authorize issuing and acknowledge cancellation of any electrical site-specific documentation.
- Maintain a written record of all switching operations, removal of safety precautions and document management.
- Review electrical works requests, RAMS and access all electrical risks and work the ePTW Process.
- Operate SCADA, record of equipment status and maintain a log of all operational activities on the system.
- Ensure that at change of shift, the CE taking over has been fully briefed and understood the operating conditions of the system.
- Monitor the Windfarm SCADA systems and respond to alarms.
- Train O&M staff to take over the control of the operations.
- Liaise with the TSO to implement boundary co-ordination and safety precautions.
Requirements:
- Experienced in HV commissioning, operations under electrical safety rules, safety documentation, switching schedules, electrical regulations.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
- Fluency in Polish is desirable.
- Full and valid GWOs.
