Pre- Press Operator Stoke-on-Trent £28,000 Our client is a well-established and highly regarded printing company based in Staffordshire and are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pre-Press Operative to join their team. This organization is known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and delivering outstanding results for its diverse client base. This is a full time, permanent position working on the day shift Monday-Friday. The Role Working within a small team, you will be responsible for all aspects of pre-press for lithographic, digital, and large-format print jobs. Be hands-on within the Pre-press department, managing your own jobs to meet deadlines. Liaise with the Sales and Production Departments, and sometimes clients, regarding ongoing print jobs. You will be responsible for checking customer-supplied artwork, reporting potential issues, preparing files, planning, imposition, and output to plate (CTP). An eye for detail is essential. There will be day-to-day general artwork, design for large-format print, POS, and display work, as well as proofing. The Person Experience in Litho and Digital format printing. (Ricoh or Heidelberg advantageous) Understanding of cutting forms would be an advantage. Experience of sheet-fed litho to B2 size printing plates and PDF proofs as well as working with CTP: Excellent understanding of colour management. The ability to check press proofs for content and colour consistency. The ability to read, analyse, and prioritise production job sheets. Experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and imposition software. Strong understanding of imposition, laydowns, plate making (CTP), separations, and trapping bleed. An understanding of customer care and client relationships. A team-based approach to process improvement and problem-solving. Salary and Benefits A salary of £28,000 is available for this role.
