CNC Press Brake Programmer and Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Press Brake Programmer and Operator to join our dynamic team. The candidate must possess a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating press brake machinery. This role is crucial in the fabrication of sheet metal components, ensuring precision and quality in every product manufactured. We have 3 AMADA CNC Press Brakes, and require a full-time operator to maximise our folding output. We also have an AMADA CNC laser cutting machine, so experience running a laser would be a useful skill, but not essential.

Duties

• Program and operate press brake machinery to bend and shape sheet metal according to precise specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to determine the correct tooling and settings.
• Assemble components using hand tools, ensuring all parts fit together accurately.
• Perform grinding and finishing tasks to achieve the desired surface quality.
• Conduct regular maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience programming and operating press brakes within a sheet metal fabrication environment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge, with the ability to work with various types of materials and tooling.
• Proficiency in using hand tools for assembly and fabrication tasks.
• Basic maths skills for measuring and calculating dimensions accurately.
• Experience working with sheet metal.
• Experience working with CNC Laser Cutting machines is preferred, but not essential, and can be learned on the premises.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £14.00-£17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 39 per week
