CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator
Walsall

Taylor Blackwood Associates are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator on behalf of a well-established precision engineering company based in Walsall. This is an excellent opportunity to join a quality-driven and fast-paced manufacturing environment, producing high-quality precision components for a varied customer base. The company prides itself on maintaining exceptionally high standards, strong team culture, and efficient turnaround times.
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 7:30am – 1:30pm
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines while ensuring components are manufactured accurately and efficiently to customer specifications. You will work closely with the CNC Section Supervisor and wider production team to ensure production schedules and quality standards are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines
- Producing high-quality precision components to specification
- Reading and interpreting both customer and in-house engineering drawings
- Working to tight tolerances and maintaining excellent attention to detail
- Ensuring all work meets company quality standards
- Carrying out first-off inspections and self-inspection of components
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Supporting fast turnaround production requirements and short lead-time jobs
Machines & Controls
The role will primarily involve working on:
- Doosan CNC Turning Machines
- Fanuc Controls
- Some experience with Citizen machines would be advantageous
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar CNC Turning role
- Strong programming and setting experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working from engineering drawings
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good understanding of machining processes and tolerances
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
