We’re looking for a confident and commercially minded Senior Account Manager to join our Third Sector, Energy, Utilities & Sustainability Practice. This role sits at the heart of our purpose‑led client work, helping to deliver impactful campaigns that drive awareness, change and measurable results. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of strong client relationship management, commercial acumen, and creative proactivity – both in nurturing existing clients and developing new business opportunities. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Sales, including your Practice lead (AD), Newsroom and Client Services to deliver high-quality broadcast and integrated PR campaigns that exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute directly to the agency’s commercial success, achieving a personal gross profit (GP) target aligned with business objectives (minimum 4x your salary per annum)
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular meetings (virtual and in‑person) to generate new opportunities and grow key accounts
- Proactively reach out to new, lapsed and existing clients to identify opportunities and expand the sales pipeline
- Negotiate fees confidently, ensuring projects are commercially viable and profitable
- Support forecasting and forward planning within your sector, identifying trends and opportunities to help the agency stay ahead
- Share sector insights, client opportunities and breaking stories that could benefit the wider team
- Lead the development and delivery of creative broadcast PR and integrated campaigns from ideation through to execution
- Manage a portfolio of clients across the Third Sector, Energy, Utilities, Sustainability and Consumer ensuring campaigns meet aims and deliver desired impact
- Oversee smooth client handovers and effective collaboration with delivery teams to maintain high quality standards
- Support cross‑sector campaigns as required, particularly where you hold existing relationships or relevant expertise
- Stay informed on the news agenda and emerging trends, particularly within the Third Sector, Energy and Sustainability spaces
- Monitor breaking stories and relevant cultural moments to identify speech‑led opportunities for clients to engage reactively
- Review past and ongoing campaign activity to ensure our work remains timely, relevant and competitive
- Collaborate across practices to share knowledge, insight and commercial opportunities
- Contribute to the agency’s culture of curiosity, creativity and excellence
- Support and mentor junior colleagues, offering guidance, feedback and opportunities for growth
- Champion teamwork and in‑person collaboration, recognising the importance of visibility, morale and collective learning
About You
- Proven experience as an Account Manager or Senior Account Manager within PR, communications, or related industries
- Demonstrable experience managing clients within purpose‑led, third sector, energy or sustainability spaces (or a strong interest in these areas)
- Strong commercial focus with the ability to spot, develop and convert new business opportunities (with current, new and lapsed clients)
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Proactive, solutions‑driven and confident working in a fast‑paced, ideas‑first environment
- A team player passionate about creating campaigns that make a genuine difference
Salary & Benefits
- Basic Salary: up to £50,000, depending on experience
- OTE: c. £55,000+ (based on commission on the gross profit of revenue you convert)
