Here at Another Word, we’re on the hunt for a full time junior account executive. This entry level role is an opportunity to start and develop a career in PR through coaching and mentoring as well as direct involvement in campaigns and day‑to‑day client delivery.

Another Word is an ambitious, purpose‑driven PR agency with a significant portfolio of household and business brands, including Bupa, DHL, and KP Snacks.

To succeed in the team you’ll be responsible, committed, dynamic and a team player. You’ll be hungry to experience new opportunities and learn best practice, and you’ll enjoy a varied portfolio working across B2B and B2C clients.

What you will be doing:

  • Media Relations
    • Monitor media.
    • Assist teams to research, identify or track relevant issues for clients through reading selected media and inputting relevant ideas or publicity opportunities to teams.
    • Update media lists regularly.
    • Handle incoming media enquiries, checking with senior team as appropriate.
    • Telephone sell‑in of client news to journalists.
    • Prepare/monitor forward feature lists and sell‑in/submit material to deadline.
    • Develop and engage key contacts in the media (including online).
    • Develop wider exposure/confidence with media.
  • Client relations
    • Act as a back up point of contact for client enquiries, relaying messages and resolving queries whenever possible.
    • Develop relationships with clients as trusted support for their accounts.
  • Communication / Presentation
    • Proven ability to communicate positively with a large group.
    • Ensure good working knowledge of client sectors, media and stakeholder environment with the ability to confidently represent the client and agency in a wide range of situations.
    • An interest in business, current affairs and consumer affairs is a pre‑requisite.
    • Demonstrate high attention to detail in all written communications, internal and external including grammar, spelling, clear structure and newsworthiness where relevant.
    • Take and accurately process briefs, producing action plans, research and copy.
    • Produce draft copy for client publications/product releases/competition copy/consumer and trade releases/adapting press release for regional variations/photo captions.
    • Produce action and status reports.
  • New business
    • Contribute to pitches.
    • Provide research and analysis.
    • Attend and contribute to new business brainstorms with creative ideas.
  • Digital
    • Understanding of digital channels and trends and how they impact communications strategy.
    • Manage AW social channels and website with support and input from the team as well as necessary training.
    • Prepare and deliver content plans for relevant client portfolio.
  • Office management and team support
    • Assist with media monitoring and compiling coverage across all accounts.
    • Support with meeting preparation such as room bookings, preparing materials and booking hospitality.
    • Support with office management tasks such as ordering supplies.
  • You will also be required to demonstrate workload management by undertaking the following activities:
    • Time management – planning, organising and prioritising your workload to ensure deadlines and objectives for work activities are met.
    • Diary management – ensuring email/online diaries are kept up to date.
    • Meetings – arranging internal and external meetings, ensuring rooms are suitable and attendees’ needs are catered for.
    • Career development – taking responsibility for personal learning and professional development, in collaboration with your line manager.
  • Working with People
    • Professional Relationships – developing professional relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, effective listening and verbal/written communication.
    • Communicating with supervisors/mentors – ensuring they are aware of work in progress and are briefed when any problems arise.
    • Team Building – working with teams to achieve goals and promote a motivated work environment.
    • Networking – building a professional network of other PR professionals whilst maintaining a professional image.
