As Team Leader you will also be:
- Team Player - You will be able to take instruction and discuss any issues clearly. You will make a positive contribution to the IDV team and be prepared to meet all challenges in a positive and constructive manner.
- Leadership - Act as a role model for your work team, demonstrating behaviours consistent with that of a team leader and behaving appropriately for this position. You will also pass on your knowledge and skills, providing onsite training for your team. You will be able to plan your team's workload to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Communication - You will communicate clearly and positively with all parties including the customer and the public, setting and meeting targets and deadlines and ensuring the efficient use of resources. Work mobiles will be kept with you at all times and answered immediately when safe to do so. You will also ensure that all personal calls are restricted to lunch and tea breaks except in an emergency.
- Team Management - You will have day-to-day responsibility for team members whilst on site and the project they are working on. Your primary responsibility is for both the quality of the work and meeting work rate targets and deadlines. You will also be responsible for the behaviour of team members, their adherence to site rules and the appearance of the team and vehicles.
Knowledge of trees and shrubs is preferred. Planting and turfing experience is preferred. A can-do attitude and safety-conscious mindset are essential. You should be physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Previous experience in an operative role is highly desirable.
