Assistant Garden Centre Manager (Full Time 40 hours per week – including weekends)
Our client are looking for an Assistant Garden Centre Manager to join there forward thinking team.
Ideally you will come from a seasonal retail environment/food
Have good management skills able to lead a team
Be strong on merchandising, product placement
Working in the Garden Centre this is a high-volume environment with a fast turnaround. The successful candidate should have proven managerial experience and be physically fit as this is a very hands-on role and some heavy lifting may be required. A knowledge of plants would be a nice to have but is not essential to the role, however, excellent customer service and a high standard of visual merchandising is required as is previous retail management experience.
Duties Include Customer service. Shop Floor management. Stock ordering. Merchandising. Staff management. Planning staff rotas. Maintaining and monitoring Health & Safety in accordance with all statutory, legal and company policies. Deputise for the Centre Manager in their absence. In conjunction with the Centre Manager, be accountable for the operational excellence and financial performance of the Centre. Ensuring the highest standards of display, compliance and livestock inventory control are maintained and that sales revenue targets are achieved and exceeded.
Requirements Of The Role An inspirational leader for Centre staff ensuring that they receive clear direction and performance management within a culture of coaching and mentoring. Highly commercial and results driven with a proven track record in a Management position. Positive and strong communicator and a skilled motivational people manager. Accountable for providing great customer service and have a keen eye for detail around the consumers experience in the Centre. A solution orientated thinker with excellent problem solving skills.
