Tay Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a Team Leader / Lead Technician to join our client’s growing team based in Rochdale. This is a construction-focused position within the mobile telecoms infrastructure sector, contributing to the delivery of 5G mobile network sites nationwide.
About the Role
As a Team Leader / Lead Technician, you will oversee and deliver small works projects within the telecoms construction environment. You will manage a team of at least four operatives and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This role is varied and hands-on, involving site-based installation and construction activities such as (but not limited to):
- Flat roof work
- Concrete and groundworks
- Structural steelwork and handrail installation
- Walkways and safe-to-climb systems
- Core drilling and fire protection
- Glanding
- Fencing and access tracks
- Tower climbing
- General telecoms site build activities
We do not expect candidates to have experience in all these areas, but a solid understanding of some is essential.
Key Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points
- Ability to work nationally, including regular overnight stays
- Willingness to work at least one weekend per month (additional weekend work available)
- Proven experience leading small teams and delivering small works projects
- Ability to read and interpret drawings / technical plans
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and CDM regulations
- Background in construction or telecoms, with demonstrable training / certifications
- Trade background (not essential)
- Previous experience on telecoms build projects
- Tower climbing or rooftop experience
