Overview Design & Development EngineerLocation: Rhonda Cyon TafSalary: Dependant on ExperienceReports to: Technical DirectorTay recruitment are recruiting for a Design & Development Engineer to lead new and modified parts from design/customer drawing through to full production. You\’ll define materials, tooling, and processes, produce accurate documentation, run first-off and ISIR activities, and ensure a smooth transition into production.The ideal candidate is proactive, organised, and confident in communicating project timelines, challenges, and progress.Responsibilities Manage new part/product introduction from concept to production releaseConduct feasibility and manufacturability assessmentsCreate/maintain drawings, BOMs, specs, tooling, jigs, and fixturesProduce engineering documentation and ISIR/FAIR reportsSupport first-off trials and production launchResolve engineering issues and drive process improvementsSkills & Experience Experience as a Development, Manufacturing, or Mechanical EngineerStrong CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred)Ability to interpret technical drawingsUnderstanding of manufacturing processesExperience producing technical documentationProblem-solving and communication skillsDesirable: hands-on shop-floor/machine experience
