Tay recruitment are recruiting for a Design & Development Engineer to lead new and modified parts from design/customer drawing through to full production. You'll define materials, tooling, and processes, produce accurate documentation, run first-off and ISIR activities, and ensure a smooth transition into production. The ideal candidate is proactive, organised, and confident in communicating project timelines, challenges, and progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage new part/product introduction from concept to production release
  • Conduct feasibility and manufacturability assessments
  • Create/maintain drawings, BOMs, specs, tooling, jigs, and fixtures
  • Produce engineering documentation and ISIR/FAIR reports
  • Support first-off trials and production launch
  • Resolve engineering issues and drive process improvements

Skills & Experience

  • Experience as a Development, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineer
  • Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Experience producing technical documentation
  • Problem-solving and communication skills
  • Desirable: hands-on shop-floor/machine experience
