As our client base continues to grow, we are looking for an ambitious Personal Tax Manager, or an experienced Personal Tax Senior ready to take the next step, to join our growing team and help shape the next stage of our journey. This is more than a compliance role. We are looking for someone who wants to become a key part of a growing practice, take ownership of client relationships, support the development of junior team members, and play an active role in our future growth.

The Opportunity

You will manage your own portfolio of personal tax clients, acting as their trusted adviser while ensuring their compliance obligations are met accurately and on time. Alongside managing client relationships, you will review work prepared by junior team members, liaise with our offshore team, and contribute to the continued development of our tax function. For the right individual, there is genuine opportunity to progress into a senior leadership role as the business continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review Self Assessment tax returns for individuals, sole traders, landlords and partnerships.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and act as their primary point of contact.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and provide practical tax advice.
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and potential tax risks.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and filing deadlines.
  • Liaise directly with HMRC on behalf of clients.
  • Review work prepared by junior team members and provide guidance where required.
  • Assist with personal tax planning matters, including Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and residency issues.
  • Liaise with our offshore team regarding sole trader accounts prepared for tax purposes.
  • Support ad hoc tax advisory and practice development projects.

About You

We are looking for an experienced practice accountant who enjoys working directly with clients and takes pride in delivering outstanding service. You will ideally have:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong knowledge of UK personal taxation and Self Assessment.
  • Experience managing a client portfolio independently.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience using TaxCalc, Dext, QuickBooks and other cloud-based software.

Qualifications

We welcome applications from:

  • ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified professionals.
  • Part-qualified candidates.
  • Qualified by Experience (QBE) professionals with relevant practice experience.
  • Experienced Personal Tax Seniors looking to take the next step in their career.
  • Established Personal Tax Managers seeking a new challenge within a growing practice.

What We Offer

  • Salary of £40,000 - £55,000 DOE.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Office-based role with potential hybrid working arrangements following successful completion of probation.
  • Clear career progression opportunities, including progression into senior management roles.
  • A modern, technology-focused working environment.
  • Supportive and collaborative team culture.
  • The opportunity to help shape and influence a rapidly growing practice.
  • Direct exposure to ambitious leadership committed to growth and innovation.
