Indirect Tax Analyst/Associate – Financial Services (EMEA)

Overview
A leading financial institution is seeking an Indirect Tax Analyst or Associate to join its EMEA tax team. This role offers the chance to contribute to a growing business by supporting indirect and operational tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
Indirect Tax Compliance
- Prepare periodic and annual VAT returns across EMEA, including UK adjustments
- Review transactional data to ensure correct VAT treatment
- Investigate discrepancies and support VAT audits
- Assist with VAT Group compliance and intra-group transactions
- Maintain VAT reporting calendar and reconcile VAT accounts
- Review and approve debtor invoices for VAT accuracy
Operational Tax Compliance
- Support preparation of FATCA/CRS reports and UK BBSI returns
- Assist with internal reporting and documentation
Regulatory & Process Support
- Monitor and implement tax legislation changes
- Respond to internal tax queries and support training initiatives
- Maintain tax policies and contribute to process improvements and automation projects
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in indirect tax, ideally in-house
- Progressing towards a professional qualification (e.g. ATT, AAT, ACCA, ACA, CTA)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and VAT regulations
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Collaborative mindset and stakeholder focus
Desirable
- Familiarity with partial exemption methods
- Knowledge of FATCA/CRS and other operational taxes
- Experience in financial services
