I'm working with a well-established and highly regarded accountancy firm in Torquay that is looking to appoint a Private Client Tax Manager to join its growing tax team. This role would suit an experienced tax professional who is keen to take the next step in their career within a supportive, forward-thinking environment. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality personal tax compliance and advisory services to a varied client base, including trusts and high-net-worth individuals. Your role as a Private Client Tax Manager:

  • Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, including trusts and High-Net Worth individuals.
  • Draft advisory reports and client correspondence covering areas such as IHT planning, residence and domicile.
  • Meet with clients to understand their tax planning needs and provide tailored advice.
  • Provide CGT advice on property, shares and other assets for UK and non-UK resident individuals.
  • Review work prepared by junior team members and support their ongoing development.
  • Oversee compliance services, including preparation and review of self‑assessment tax returns and computations.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce clients to other service lines, particularly financial planning.
  • Request, collate and maintain client information.
  • Deal confidently with client queries and correspondence.
  • Liaise directly with clients, HMRC, solicitors and other professional advisers to deliver an excellent client experience.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • You must be ACA Qualified with post qualification experience.
  • ATT or CTA qualification (or equivalent), with strong and up-to-date technical knowledge.
  • A good understanding of regulatory and compliance standards within tax.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
  • A professional, discreet and client‑focused approach, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
