Clark Wood is pleased to be working with a highly regarded independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Stockport, who are seeking a confident and experienced Personal Tax Senior to join their thriving tax team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a personal tax specialist looking to take on more responsibility within a well-established and supportive firm that values professional development and exceptional client service.

Role Overview

As a Personal Tax Senior, you will manage a varied portfolio of private clients, including high-net-worth individuals, sole traders, landlords, and company directors. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality compliance work while also contributing to advisory and planning projects as your experience allows.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing self‑assessment tax returns for a broad range of personal tax clients
• Handling queries relating to capital gains tax, inheritance tax, residency, and other personal tax matters
• Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and supporting their development
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships, providing excellent service and tailored advice
• Assisting senior managers and partners with tax planning and advisory projects
• Ensuring all work is completed accurately and in line with internal deadlines and HMRC requirements

Candidate Profile

• ATT qualified or qualified by experience; CTA qualification is a bonus but not essential
• Strong background in personal tax compliance, ideally within a UK practice environment
• Excellent client‑facing and communication skills
• Confident managing your own portfolio and reviewing the work of others
• Proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently
