Corporate Tax Senior – Sheffield – £DOE

Clark Wood are currently working with a well-established and highly regarded independent accountancy practice who are looking to recruit a Corporate Tax Senior to join their Tax team in Sheffield.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected firm that provides a comprehensive range of accountancy, tax, and business advisory services to a diverse client portfolio. The successful candidate will join an experienced tax team and take responsibility for a varied portfolio of corporate tax clients. The role will involve preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and returns, dealing directly with HMRC on a range of tax matters, and identifying tax planning opportunities to add value to clients.

In addition, you will build and maintain strong client relationships, keep abreast of changes in tax legislation and regulations, and contribute to the ongoing development of the tax team through the sharing of technical knowledge and best practice.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a corporate tax environment, with strong corporation tax compliance knowledge and excellent communication skills. The ability to manage client relationships and deliver a high standard of service will be essential.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and supporting tax returns
  • Preparing CT61 returns and associated documentation
  • Liaising directly with HMRC regarding tax queries and compliance matters
  • Managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients
  • Identifying tax planning opportunities and providing support on advisory matters
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Ensuring compliance obligations are completed accurately and within deadlines
  • Keeping up to date with developments in tax legislation, regulation and professional standards
  • Sharing technical knowledge and regulatory updates with colleagues
  • Assisting with a range of corporate tax projects and assignments as required

  • Previous experience within a corporate tax environment
  • Strong corporation tax compliance knowledge
  • Experience preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and returns
  • Knowledge of CT61 returns would be advantageous
