Private Client Tax Manager with a particular focus on International Tax into its growing Bristol team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Private Client Tax professional looking to develop their career within a role offering genuine exposure to complex international and cross-border tax advisory work .
You’ll manage a varied portfolio including high-net-worth individuals, internationally mobile clients, non-UK residents, long-term UK residents and individuals with overseas assets, investments and income .
The position offers an excellent balance of compliance, advisory and client management responsibilities, with significant exposure to residence, the FIG regime, Temporary Repatriation Facility (TRF), Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax and wider international tax planning.
You’ll join a substantial multidisciplinary tax team while benefiting from flexible hybrid working, excellent technical support and clear opportunities for further progression.
The Role
- Manage a portfolio of Private Client Tax clients including HNW and internationally mobile individuals
- Manage and review complex personal tax returns
- Advise clients on
- UK residence and international tax matters
- Provide advice around the
- Foreign Income and Gains (FIG) regime
- Advise on the
- Temporary Repatriation Facility (TRF)
- Provide international tax planning and
- Inheritance Tax advice for long-term and non-long-term UK residents
- Advise on the UK taxation of overseas income, investments and property
- Support clients with double tax relief claims and wider cross-border tax issues
- Provide Capital Gains Tax advice relating to property, shares and other assets
- Advise both UK and non-UK resident individuals
- Assist clients with offshore income, disclosures and reporting requirements
- Gain exposure to offshore trust matters
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
- Liaise directly with HMRC and other professional advisers
- Review work prepared by junior members of the team
- Coach and develop junior tax professionals
- Identify opportunities to provide additional advisory services to clients
- Collaborate with specialists across the wider tax and advisory practice
- The Ideal Candidate
- Strong experience within
- Private Client or Personal Tax
- Experience across both tax compliance and advisory work
- Previous exposure to international and cross-border Private Client Tax
- CTA qualification or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of UK residence and international tax matters
- An understanding of the FIG regime and TRF
- Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns involving foreign income and gains
- Experience dealing with offshore assets and reporting requirements
- Strong Capital Gains Tax knowledge
- Exposure to offshore trusts would be advantageous but is not essential
- Strong client management and relationship-building skills
- Experience reviewing work and supporting junior colleagues
- Excellent technical and commercial awareness
- The ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly and practically
