A rare opening has arisen within the private client tax team of a well-regarded boutique practice in London's West End, created by an internal promotion. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Private Client Senior or Supervisor ready to step up, or an existing Assistant Manager seeking richer technical exposure within a genuinely high‑quality portfolio.

The firm has been founded over 70 years ago and is based in the heart of London. This multi‑partner practice has built an exceptional reputation advising entrepreneurial owner‑managed businesses and high‑net‑worth private clients – in many cases across multiple generations. Despite its boutique size, the quality and complexity of the private client work rivals that of much larger practices.

You’ll join a close‑knitted private client team of around 12, sitting alongside experienced managers and reporting directly to a Director and Partner. The team operates with a strong advisory culture and benefits from genuine exposure to complex, high‑value client work from an early stage.

You’ll manage a portfolio of approximately 100 private clients, spanning compliance and advisory work across:

  • Complex personal tax (including non‑domiciled and non‑long‑term resident clients)
  • Offshore trusts and international family wealth structures
  • Inheritance tax and estate planning
  • Cross‑border and multi‑jurisdictional matters
  • Media, entertainment and IP income (royalties, artists)

You’ll act as a key point of contact for client queries, review self‑assessment returns for individuals, partnerships and trusts, liaise with HMRC and third parties, and support the development of junior colleagues and trainees.

The firm is open on level – a strong Senior or Supervisor looking to step up will be considered alongside those already operating at Assistant Manager level. You’ll ideally be CTA qualified or working toward it, with a solid grounding in UK personal taxes. Experience advising non‑doms, knowledge of trusts, or exposure to IHT and probate would be advantageous. Familiarity with CCH is helpful but not essential.

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000

Study support via Kaplan (where applicable)

Hybrid working – approximately 1–2 days from home
