Top 20 firm seeks an experienced tax professional to join their growing team. This role can be based in Leicester, Milton Keynes, Northampton or Southampton, or remote with some travel to Northampton. Working directly with the existing VAT and advisory service teams, this is predominantly an advisory role for a company who are exploring bold new ways of working in a new era of accounting. Key Responsibilities

  • Working with clients and the firm’s partner group developing good client relationships
  • Investigating and researching technical VAT issues
  • Writing and communicating clear and practical VAT advice avoiding technical language where possible

Guidance and development and mentoring will be provided.

About you

  • Several years experience in a VAT role, ideally in an accountancy practice
  • Strong technical ability, attention to detail and an enquiring mind
  • Likes processes, thinks commercially, loves a challenge!
  • Analyses queries, identifies core issues, investigates and researches complex technical issues
  • Has experience in advising numerous business sectors
  • Is a team player who works in a cooperative, respectful manner with colleagues and clients and is able to build strong working relationships
  • Is able to prioritise and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Builds the reputation of the firm through the quality of work, knowledge and high level of client service
  • Is able to explain complex issues in a way non-VAT experts will understand
  • Prepared to work hard and learn, commercial and entrepreneurial skills an advantage
