Our client is a Top Ten accountancy firm in the UK. They are looking for a Corporate Tax Manager who will oversee mainly OMB and some larger PLC clients, delivering high‑quality tax compliance and advisory services. The role requires oversight and development of junior staff, the provision of technical advice on complex tax matters, and support to partners and directors on tax planning and advisory projects. This position will ensure exceptional client service and contribute to business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Review complex corporation tax returns and larger groups.
  • Manage a large portfolio of clients with complex needs, building relationships with the client and communicating effectively with the audit and ABAS teams to ensure workflow is efficient and meets client expectations.
  • Manage conversations with client teams regarding adherence to minimum pricing for CT, develop pricing strategies for clients for review by senior team.
  • Manage ongoing advisory projects on the individual client portfolio, with support from the partner or director.
  • Use the firm’s resources to research complex technical issues and arrive at conclusions for review by more senior team members.
  • Attend pre‑year and completion meetings for clients.
  • Stay abreast of changes to tax legislation, contribute to regional marketing plans, and build proactive relationships with clients to ensure changes are communicated effectively.
  • Review final tax packs and transmittal letters for more complex clients, manage senior reviews, and approve issues to the client.
  • Manage a team of people, delegating appropriately, and ensuring the team has the required skills and exposure to work.
  • Generate leads from potential new clients and demonstrate the ability to secure new work.

Qualifications:

Ideally you will have a relevant qualification such as ATT, CTA, ACA, ICAS, ACCA or an equivalent.

Location & Working Arrangements:

The role is based in Manchester. The client prefers a full‑time candidate but may consider a part‑time schedule of four days per week. The position can be hybrid, with a minimum of three days in the office.
