Your new role
As a Business Tax Manager, you will play a key role within the Business and Corporate Tax team, managing a diverse portfolio of clients and delivering a blend of compliance work and advisory projects. You will support entrepreneurial and owner‑managed businesses throughout their lifecycle, advising on commercial decisions, tax planning opportunities and structural considerations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of business tax clients, overseeing the compliance cycle, building trusted relationships and identifying opportunities to add value
- Delivering advisory work including succession planning, remuneration planning, capital allowances and lifecycle tax planning
- Supporting clients with equity incentivisation schemes (e.g., EMI)
- Advising on areas affecting business owners such as Business Asset Disposal Relief and Business Property Relief
- Assisting with restructurings, international expansion and IP‑related planning
- Leading and supporting business development activities, proposals and networking
- Identifying tax planning, risk mitigation and cross‑service opportunities
- Training, mentoring and developing junior colleagues within the team
- Ensuring full compliance with technical, ethical and risk management standards
You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across multiple offices and service lines, ensuring clients receive an efficient, proactive and high‑quality service.
What you’ll need to succeed
- ACA / ACCA / CTA (or equivalent), with at least one year of post‑qualified experience
- Experience working with corporate and entrepreneurial clients at Assistant Manager or Manager level
- Strong corporate tax technical knowledge
- Good understanding of tax matters affecting OMBs and their shareholders
- Working knowledge of UK accounting standards and financial information
