VAT Director London Permanent Up to £120k base

As an Associate Tax Director, the incumbent will play an essential role within the leadership team of Partners and Directors.

  • Necessary experience
  • We are looking for an experienced VAT adviser with more than 15 years’ experience, able to provide technically sound advice.
  • Commercially aware and focused on delivery a high level of service to clients - you will be a track record in working with a client base ranging from large conglomerates to start ups.
  • A confident leader who enjoys coaching and developing others and who thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • CTA or equivalent qualification
  • Key experience and capabilities
  • You will have the ability to develop robust relationships with internal colleagues across other lines of business
  • Strong in developing new business, with a track record of identifying opportunities and helping to grow the indirect tax entity.
  • Ability to hit the ground running, taking responsibility for a portfolio of legacy clients.
  • Experience with taking the lead on client engagements, managing risk, and delivering technical quality and first-class client service.

Key responsibilities and duties

  • Taking the lead with delivery of high-quality VAT advisory services across a range of clients, ensuring technical expertise and pragmatic, empathetic outcomes
  • Manage a portfolio of existing clients, building robust relationships and acting as the client’s main contact.
  • Continually developing new business: identify opportunities, present proposals, and convert prospects in order to grow the indirect tax practice.
  • Leading, mentoring and developing team members and ensuring work is completed to the highest quality.
  • Collaborating with Partners and Directors on a strategic level, supporting UK wide initiatives and helping to map out the future direction of the VAT team.
  • You will need sound commercial judgement and broad business acumen, managing risk and delivering excellent client journeys.
