This role has been created to strengthen Saffery’s Tax Technology & Transformation capability at a critical point of growth as demand for technology‑enabled tax services increases.

This role has ability to make real impact in the design, development and delivery of new tech-enabled propositions.

It will include building new technology-enabled tax solutions inhouse, development of proof‑of‑concepts, and supporting the delivery of client and internal tax technology initiatives.

The responsibilities Lead the design and development of tax technology proof‑of‑concepts and internal solutions, translating tax and business requirements into practical, scalable technology outcomes.

Manage the delivery of internal and external tax technology projects, coordinating inputs from tax specialists, data teams and wider technology stakeholders.

Facilitate discovery, ideation and solution‑design workshops with tax teams and clients to identify opportunities for automation, analytics and process improvement.

Act as a point of contact for ad hoc tax technology support across the business, helping teams adopt tools and approaches that improve efficiency and quality.

Support the development and ownership of tax technology propositions, including solution design, documentation, and preparation of marketing and client materials.

Contribute to tax initiatives, including acting as product owner where required and ensuring alignment with wider firm strategy.

Deliver training sessions and knowledge‑sharing activities to build tax technology capability and engagement across the wider tax practice.

The team works closely with tax specialists across service lines, with wider technology colleagues in the firm and with clients.

The team offers strong exposure, shared learning and the opportunity to shape new ways of working.

You We are open to candidates with potential who are ready to grow into this role.

You are likely to demonstrate: Experience designing or building technology‑enabled solutions, automation or analytics tools within an inhouse tax, finance or professional services environment.

The ability to translate complex tax or business problems into clear technical approaches and deliver working solutions.

Tax-relevant experience, including managing or contributing to project delivery.

Key experience at least one of the following technology tools / platforms in a tax/ finance environment: Microsoft Power Platform (Automate, Apps, Query, Bi etc) or similar; Copilot Studio/ Azure Foundry or similar Agentic AI platform; Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Dataverse, Alteryx.

Experience or awareness of broad technology landscape, workflow orchestration, data governance and software coding languages (eg Python, SQL, DAX).

Ability to self‑drive projects as well as prioritise, communicate progress and manage competing demands.

Confidence communicating complex technology concepts with mixed technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including delivering workshops and working sessions.

A collaborative approach, with evidence of sharing knowledge, supporting others and contributing to team capability.

Sound judgement when dealing with uncertainty, data quality issues or changing requirements.
