We are recruiting for a Tax Associate / Senior Associate to join our UK Private Client tax team in London. The role is primarily focused on the provision of high-quality personal tax compliance but also includes the provision of tax advice over the course of the year for our varied and complex client base. Our clients include high and ultra-high net worth individuals, particularly those with complex investments, and trust, corporate and partnership interests.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of the tax compliance cycle on a timely basis on your client portfolio.
  • You will prepare tax returns for complex and varied client base, including some trusts, sole traders and partnerships.
  • You will prepare written correspondence for clients and deal with HM Revenue & Customs in connection with the clients’ affairs.
  • You will have the opportunity to correspond directly with clients, family office representatives and other key stakeholders and you will attend client meetings.
  • You will work with managers, senior managers, directors and partners to deliver tax advice and tax planning for clients.
  • You will be responsible for monitoring WIPs and budgets, ensuring work is billed on completion and ensuring debts are chased.

The UK Private Client team is headed up by five partners who bring a wealth of experience in looking after a varied but UK-centric client base. The team of 25 staff all work closely together to deliver high quality tax compliance and advisory services to our complex and diverse client base.

You

  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • A high level of motivation, ability and commitment.
  • Will have experience of running the compliance cycle for their own portfolio of clients.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills are essential to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Will ideally have had experience in the provision of ad hoc tax advice, including inheritance and capital gains tax planning.
  • Will be from a professional services background.
  • Will be a confident communicator to colleagues, partners and clients.
  • Comfortable working on their own initiative as well as being a good team player.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work in a timely manner.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Candidates must be educated to at least ‘A’ level standard and ideally graduate level. He/she should be working towards or have obtained the CTA qualification.
