I am currently recruiting for a leading independent private client tax advisory firm, currently seeking a Private Client Tax director to join their firm and specialise in offshore trusts, IHT and broader private client tax expertise. You will advise HNWI, trustees, family offices and international families on the UK tax implications of offshore trusts, cross-border wealth planning and long-term succession strategies. This firm is based in London and surrounding areas and offers a flexible hybrid working policy.
Key responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on UK personal tax, residence and domicile, capital gains tax, IHT, trusts and estate planning
- Act as the primary adviser to a portfolio of HNWI, including entrepreneurs, non-doms, family offices and senior executives
- Oversee complex tax structuring, succession planning and international asset arrangements
- Advise on the UK tax treatment of offshore trusts, lead advisory projects on trust restructuring or departure planning for internationally mobile clients
- Support trustees and family offices with ongoing UK tax compliance, reporting obligations and HMRC enquiries
- Build long‑term relationships with offshore trust companies, private banks, legal advisors, HNWI and UHNWI
- Deliver high quality, commercially focused advice that balances technical accuracy with practical implementation
- Lead technical review of complex personal tax returns
- Provide technical leadership on offshore trust matters supporting the partners
- Lead and mentor a team of managers, seniors and trainees.
Requirements
- ACCA or CTA qualified
- Deep technical knowledge of UK taxation, personal tax, offshore trusts, residence and domicile rules etc
- Previous experience as a director or experienced senior manager
- Experience managing complex advisory projects
- Strong leadership experience, including team management and technical mentoring
