We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Manager to join our UK Private Client team in London. This is an opportunity to take a leading role in advising a sophisticated portfolio of ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, estates and associated business interests, whilst helping to drive the continued growth and success of the practice.

The successful candidate will work closely with Partners and Directors on complex client matters, whilst taking ownership of significant client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser to clients and their professional networks. In addition to delivering exceptional technical advice, the role will involve leading and developing teams, identifying business development opportunities and contributing to the strategic direction of the Private Wealth & Estates Group.

The UK Private Client team provides a wide range of strategic advisory, tax and accounting services to private clients and their associated entities. A significant proportion of our work relates to large family groups, including trusts, partnerships, family investment companies and privately owned businesses.

The responsibilities

  • Lead a portfolio of complex private client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, family offices and associated business interests.
  • Oversee the delivery and review of tax compliance and reporting services, including trust and personal tax returns, estate accounts, trust accounts and inheritance tax matters, ensuring the highest standards of quality and client service.
  • Provide technical leadership across a broad range of private client advisory matters, including trust structuring, succession planning, inheritance tax, residence and domicile issues, wealth preservation and family governance.
  • Lead complex advisory and planning projects, working collaboratively with clients, their professional advisers and colleagues across the firm to deliver commercially focused solutions.
  • Develop and strengthen client and intermediary relationships, identifying opportunities to broaden service lines, support business development activities and contribute to the continued growth of the UK Private Client team.
  • Coach, mentor and develop Managers, Assistant Managers and junior colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration and technical excellence.
  • Manage client portfolios from both a commercial and operational perspective, taking responsibility for budgeting, recoverability, resource planning, risk management and overall profitability.
  • Contribute to the wider success of the firm through thought leadership, networking, cross-service collaboration and participation in strategic initiatives and business planning activities.

The team

The UK Private Client team advises individuals and their associated entities. A proportion of the group’s work relates to large family groups and their associated operating structures, including family investment companies, trusts and general partnerships. The overall aim of the role is to provide outstanding client service in a professional and efficient manner, tailored to give the client the benefit of exceptional advice and maximum added value.

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and technically capable, with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. The position will require a high level of teamwork and commitment, with the ability to manage deadlines and run multiple projects concurrently. Candidates should be self-motivated, display a positive approach and can get things done. In addition, they should possess the confidence and professionalism to establish credibility at all levels, be commercially minded and have a clear perception of client requirements.

Candidates should be ACA and/or CTA qualified. The successful candidate will possess a wide range of financial and tax advisory experience, including involvement in all aspects of personal tax and corporate compliance deadlines. The candidate will need to have experience in managing a demanding portfolio with a range of clients, reporting to multiple stakeholders simultaneously.

The firm will provide training and support to help develop the successful candidate’s specialist knowledge and capabilities.

A 35 hour working week with a hybrid working policy with the flexibility to work from home for up to three days per week (our core hours are 10-4).
