A highly regarded accountancy firm with a strong presence across the North West is looking to appoint a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager into their growing tax team. Following a recent senior hire to strengthen leadership and drive the function forward, the firm is entering an exciting phase of growth and development, with a clear focus on enhancing its corporate tax offering.
In this role you will take ownership of a portfolio of corporate tax clients, predominantly SMEs, owner‑managed businesses and larger group structures with some overseas elements. Your responsibilities will focus on the preparation and review of corporate tax returns, alongside tax accounting and compliance work. You will work closely with audit and accounts teams to ensure a joined‑up service offering, and gain exposure to senior stakeholders including Partners and Directors. While the role is primarily compliance‑focused, there will also be opportunities to support advisory work as you develop.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of a portfolio of corporate tax clients, primarily SMEs, owner‑managed businesses, larger group structures and some overseas elements.
- Prepare and review corporate tax returns.
- Perform tax accounting and compliance work.
- Coordinate with audit and accounts teams to deliver a joined‑up service.
- Interact with senior stakeholders such as Partners and Directors.
- Support advisory work as opportunities arise.
Qualifications
- Strong grounding in corporate tax compliance with experience managing your own portfolio and handling billing processes.
- Organised, proactive and capable of managing workload effectively with a self‑starting approach.
- Experience with systems such as Alphatax or CCH is beneficial, though not essential.
- Part‑qualified candidates will be considered.
