Your new role:
- Managing a portfolio of trust clients, including UK resident and non-resident trusts, estates, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Preparing and reviewing trust tax returns and related compliance documentation in accordance with HMRC requirements.
- Advising trustees and beneficiaries on tax implications of distributions, income, and capital gains.
- Ensuring timely submission of tax returns and payments, and managing correspondence with HMRC.
- Providing technical guidance on inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and income tax matters relating to trusts and estates.
- Liaising with solicitors, financial advisers, and other professionals to ensure accurate reporting and planning.
- Supporting clients with the registration of trusts on the Trust Registration Service (TRS) and maintaining compliance with ongoing obligations.
- Identifying tax planning opportunities and advising on restructuring or winding up of trusts.
- Keeping up to date with changes in legislation and communicating relevant updates to clients and colleagues.
- Assisting with internal training and development of junior staff within the trust and private client team.
- Reviewing trust accounts and ensuring accurate allocation of income and capital for tax purposes.
- Participating in business development activities and contributing to proposals and client pitches.
To be successful in this role you'll need:
- Suitable qualification, ATT, ACA, STEP, CTA etc.
- Trust compliance / portfolio experience.
- Advisory experience a bonus but could be developed.
