Our client is an independent firm with 6 offices throughout the UK. They seek a key tax hire at Director or Partner level ideally based in either their Leeds or London offices. In this role you will help with the next stage of development of the tax practice, joining a small team of tax partners and focusing on advisory work for HNW individuals, entrepreneurs and their businesses. This role would suit either an existing partner or director or someone looking for a step up.
You will need to be someone who enjoys business development and building long‑term relationships with clients. As a Tax Partner, you will be instrumental in shaping the strategic tax practices of the firm. Your role will encompass identifying complex tax planning and compliance projects, mentoring a team of tax professionals, and enhancing client relationships through exceptional advisory services.
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing a team of more junior staff.
- Advisory work for HNW individuals, families and business owners covering personal and capital taxes and planning around their businesses, including clients with international wealth.
- Business development and marketing of the firm’s tax services as well as cross‑selling the work of other teams.
- Building long‑term relationships with other departments fostering knowledge sharing.
- Working with other partners on process improvement for tax.
- Provision of expert advice and fostering relationships with clients to understand their business goals, identifying tax planning opportunities which address their unique challenges and offering excellent client care.
- Staying abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, advising clients and internal teams on their implications, as well as keeping up with technology advancements.
- Overseeing and mentoring a team of Tax professionals, providing guidance on technical matters and fostering a culture of continuing professional development.
- Conducting regular training sessions to keep the team updated on the latest tax laws and compliance procedures.
- Representing the firm in dealings with HMRC and regulatory bodies.
- Review of work prepared by junior staff and delegation of work enabling staff to develop.
Qualifications:
