Your New Role
As a Private Client Tax Assistant Manager, you will work closely with senior tax specialists to deliver high-quality advisory services to a varied client portfolio.
You will be involved in a broad range of tax planning projects while supporting business development initiatives and mentoring junior team members.
Key responsibilities will include
- Supporting the delivery of tax advisory services to a portfolio of private clients.
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients where appropriate.
- Assisting with complex tax planning projects, including inheritance tax planning, succession planning, capital gains tax planning, trust structuring, residence and international tax matters, Transaction-related tax advice
- Managing advisory assignments and monitoring work in progress.
- Assisting with proposals for new work and fee discussions.
- Participating in client meetings and helping present technical advice in a clear and commercial manner.
- Identifying opportunities to develop existing client relationships and win new business.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across tax and wider service lines to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Supporting, coaching and developing junior members of the tax team.
- Attending networking and business development events to build professional relationships and raise the firm's profile.
- What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have
- A professional tax qualification such as CTA, ATT, STEP, ACA/CA or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience within a private client tax advisory environment.
- Strong technical knowledge across private client tax planning matters.
- The ability to undertake independent technical research and interpret legislation.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational and project management capabilities.
- Competent use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience using Tolley's tax research products would be advantageous.
