Clark Wood are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading Luton based firm of chartered accountants who are looking to add an experienced and driven Personal Tax Manager to their team. As a Personal Tax Manager, you will form an integral part of the firm’s tax offering and will work closely with the Tax Partner. You will have responsibility for overseeing Tax Seniors and Trainees within the team, reviewing their work and providing support and guidance as necessary.

You will work with a diverse array of clients and will be responsible for ensuring that all compliance work is completed accurately and efficiently. You will undertake compliance work for the more complex clients within the portfolio. The majority of your day-to-day role will focus on the review of tax returns prepared by other members of the team. There will also be a good proportion of advisory work involved in the role, providing guidance and tax planning services to clients.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working in a solely tax focused role and will ideally be CTA Qualified (ACA, ACCA, and ATT Qualified will be considered). Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as the main point of contact
  • Preparing and reviewing self-assessments tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and estates
  • Providing guidance, training, and support to junior staff
  • Liaising with HMRC and other third parties to ensure the smooth handling of our clients’ tax affairs
  • Providing consultancy advice on a whole range of tax matters

Skills:

  • CTA Qualified (ACCA / ACA Qualified will be considered)
  • Strong Personal Tax experience within a practice environment is essential
