Personal Tax Senior / Assistant Manager – Edinburgh
Clark Wood is working with a highly regarded independent firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers in Edinburgh to recruit a Personal Tax Senior or Assistant Manager to join their established and growing tax team.
This is a key role within the department, supporting partners directly and working with a high‑quality portfolio of HNWIs and complex private clients. The firm is keen to appoint an independent self‑starter who can manage work with minimal review and take real ownership of their client base. Reporting to the partners, the role is predominantly focused on personal tax compliance, with exposure to advisory work depending on experience and appetite.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of HNWI and private clients, acting as the main point of contact
Prepare and review Self Assessment tax returns and related personal tax submissions
Work directly with partners, delivering review‑ready work with minimal supervision
Provide input on personal tax advisory matters where required
Ensure compliance deadlines are met and work is delivered to a high standard
Support and mentor junior members of the tax team as appropriate
Candidate Requirements
ATT / CTA qualified (or qualified by experience)
Strong personal tax experience gained within an accountancy practice
Comfortable managing complex client relationships independently
Organised, proactive, and confident delivering work with minimal review
