A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced customs consultant to join this highly successful, growing professional services team. Joining an established Customs team and working as part of the wider Indirect Tax team, you will be responsible for supporting clients across a variety of sectors and consulting on all matters relating to customs duties and compliance. Key responsibilities will include:
- Working directly with clients in order to provide high-quality advice relating to matters of customs duty and compliance. Areas covered will include customs classification, origin, valuation, customs special procedures, AEO authorisation, duty reclaims and disclosures, excise duties, customs data analytics, and CBAM.
- Developing strong relationships with clients and taking the lead on proactively managing those relationships, taking ownership for the delivery of work to the required standard and in a timely manner. This will involve agreeing fees, managing client projects from initial preparation to application, implementation, and ongoing compliance e.g. for customs warehousing, Inward Processing, and AEO.
- Supporting the wider VAT team and collaborating with other teams within the firm in a joined-up manner in order to best support clients.
- Keeping up-to-date with legislative, regulatory, and technical updates in the customs and international trade environment; understanding how such changes may impact our clients and identifying opportunities arising as a result.
This is a hybrid role based in the London office, with a general expectation of 2 days a week to be spent in the office. To apply, it is essential that you are able to work unrestricted in the UK.
