A highly respected and growing independent accountancy practice is looking to appoint a Personal Tax Senior to join its established tax team.
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a varied portfolio of private clients, develop your advisory expertise and play an active role in mentoring junior colleagues. Working within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of personal tax matters while building long-term relationships with clients.
The Role:
Working closely with Managers, Directors and Partners, you'll be responsible for managing your own portfolio of personal tax clients while supporting a variety of advisory and tax planning projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring all compliance deadlines are met.
- Preparing and reviewing Self Assessment tax returns and personal tax computations.
- Advising clients on Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Inheritance Tax (IHT) and wider personal tax planning matters.
- Managing HMRC correspondence and resolving complex tax queries.
- Identifying tax planning opportunities and supporting advisory projects.
- Reviewing work prepared by junior colleagues and providing mentoring where appropriate.
- Building and maintaining strong long-term client relationships.
- Working closely with senior members of the tax team to deliver exceptional client service.
About YouThe successful candidate will ideally have:
- ATT qualified (CTA or CTA studying would be advantageous).
- Previous experience within Personal Tax gained in a UK accountancy practice.
- Experience managing a portfolio of private clients.
- Strong technical knowledge across UK personal tax compliance.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- A proactive approach with strong organisational and analytical abilities.
- Experience reviewing work and supporting junior colleagues would be beneficial.
