A well-established and highly respected accountancy firm in Banbury is looking to appoint a Corporate Tax Manager to support the continued growth of its corporate tax offering. This is a broad role combining technical advisory exposure, team leadership, portfolio management, and business development within a collaborative and ambitious environment.
You will work with a varied client base ranging from owner-managed businesses through to larger groups with turnovers commonly between £50m and £100m, alongside some significantly larger clients. The work is intellectually interesting, commercially focused, and far more advisory-led than many mid-market tax positions.
The RoleAs Corporate Tax Manager, you will:
- Manage a portfolio of corporate tax clients across a broad range of sectors
- Review complex corporate tax computations and returns
- Deliver advisory work covering areas such as restructures, R&D, capital allowances, EMI schemes, CIR, transfer pricing, and M&A activity
- Act as a technical point of contact for the wider team
- Support and develop junior staff through reviews, coaching, and mentorship
- Work closely with audit and accounts teams on wider client matters
- Identify advisory and cross-selling opportunities within the existing client base
- Attend networking and business development events where appropriate
- Help improve processes, systems, workflow management, and team efficiency
The ideal candidate will:
- Be ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified
- Have at least 6 years' experience within corporate tax
- Possess strong compliance review and advisory experience
- Enjoy mentoring and developing staff
- Be commercially aware and confident speaking with clients
- Have worked within a Top 50 or similarly sized accountancy practice environment
