We are looking for an Assistant Accountant/ Trainee Accountant to join our small, friendly and expanding accountancy business, located in Saffron Walden and Royston, which specialises in providing a friendly, flexible and proactive all year-round service to small businesses and individuals in the local areas. This is a full-time permanent role with chances of growth for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Self-Assessment Tax Returns for Sole Traders, Rental property Income, Individuals and Partnerships.
- Bookkeeping includes preparation and submission of VAT Returns.
- Managing the processing of monthly payrolls, CIS scheme and setting up and administration of Auto Enrolment pension schemes.
- Provision of day-to-day business support to clients.
- Experience in dealing with HMRC on behalf of clients.
- Answering telephone calls, dealing with enquiries and responding to queries in a timely, courteous and efficient manner and accurately logging information.
- Establishing and maintaining a professional and friendly working relationship with clients, outsourced partners and colleagues.
- Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing between clients/visitors/enquirers and staff and interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions.
- Manage, organise and update relevant data using database applications.
